Over the last 15 years I’ve been involved in building over 1000 websites and almost all of them were built on WordPress. So lets dive into why I chose WordPress vs other platforms.

NUMBER 1 – It’s Free

When I started out I was on a tight budget like most new internet marketers. I had lots of ideas, so I needed a way to build websites that wouldn’t break the bank.

WordPress is free so all it cost me was a little bit of time to get started.

NUMBER 2 – Can be Used to Create Any Type of Website

What kind of website are you building? It doesn’t matter because WordPress can handle it. Are you building a Review Site, WordPress can handle it, a Membership Site, it can do that too.

Maybe you own a local business and want to build the perfect site, WordPress is PERFECT for it.

It doesn’t matter what type of website you want to create, you can use WordPress to do it.

NUMBER 3 – WordPress is Pretty Simple to Use

Lets face it, if you’re like me, some of this stuff can get very complicated very fast and I’m not a fan of complicated. WordPress is simple and easy to use.

From download to installation and setup, just about anyone can do it with minimal help. Can it be over complicated? Of course it can, but save that for later when you have a bit of experience.

NUMBER 4 – There is Lots of Help Available

WordPress has a huge community of people, just like yourself, with little experience as well as veteran developers to help answer questions.

Its support forum has millions of questions and answers to help you anytime you get stuck along the way.

Because it’s the most popular website platform there are many sites just like this one where you can find help. (let’s not forget YouTube, there’s a video for everything)

NUMBER 5 – According to Google WordPress is SEO Friendly

What exactly does SEO friendly mean? If you’re new to all this then you might not be aware that in order for your new website to be seen by people it needs to show up on the first page of Google.

SEO or Search Engine Optimization is what makes that happen. I’ll talk about SEO in another article, just know that Google loves WordPress and that helps you.

NUMBER 6 – It’s Highly Customizable and Very Flexable

WordPress has evolved of the years making it much easier to customize.

But what really makes it stand out are the tens of thousands themes you can get, some free, others paid, to help you get just the look you want.

There are also tons of WordPress Plugins to help with the look and feel of your site as well as functionality.

NUMBER 7 – It’s the MOST Popular Content Management System on the Planet

WordPress holds around 59% share of the CMS business across the globe. The next two have only a 7% and 5% share.

With so many users and WordPress being open source it makes it extremely easy to find help and if you need to hire someone for customizations it’s a lot cheaper.

My Final Thoughts

When I first got into the internet marketing business many years ago WordPress was not as popular but over the years it’s proven itself as the industry standard.

If you’re just starting out and have limited experience then WordPress is for you. If on the other hand you’re an experienced marketer, why you reading this, you should already be using  Wordpress.
